On June 14, 2024, the Island Heights Police Department and the Island Heights Volunteer Fire Co. 1 were invited to attend our very own Grade School’s annual flag day ceremony.

This year the Grade School recognized our police department, our volunteer firefighters, and all public service members in our area.

The Grade School chorus performed some amazing anthems and the community sang in unison. Officer Zappola and Ret. Deputy Chief Nelson of Bloomfield Fire Company made speech’s focusing on the importance our flag has to our country, our community and what it means to them.
