Past Chief Rob Wilber Jr.
Let us talk today about our good friend Rob Wilber Jr. Rob is a 3rd generation fire fighter who followed in the footsteps of his Grandfather who was a past Chief with our department, and his father (who we lovingly knew as Bub) who was a past President with the department. Because of them, Rob grew up around the firehouse and fell in love with the idea of it all as a little kid. He had a desire to join the company and did so back in 1987, giving him a current 33 years of service to our fire company. He is a Life Member, and has held many positions ranging from Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, and Chief (two times). He is also currently the President of the fire company, his second time holding that position, and has been the financial secretary in the past as well. Rob is always one to get involved in all of our fundraisers and events, and has said his favorite part of being in the company is seeing the reaction of the kids and the community to all of the great events that we run. Outside of the department he is the Vice President of Development for Mack-Cali Realty where he has worked for 25 years. He has given back to the community by serving on the Island Heights Planning Board, and IH Board of Education where he served as President for five years. He has two children, Cody (24), who is a current Fire Police member at our department, and is enrolled in college, and Samantha (22) who is working towards obtaining her Masters Degree. When he isn’t spending his time at the firehouse you can find Rob hanging out with family and friends, watching the Steelers and NASCAR. Thank you Rob for all of your continued service to the IHFD!
