Today we thank Jon Brodbeck for his service to our company. Jon is the current Chief of the fire department. Having grown up and lived in Island Heights for most of his life, he decided in 2003 that he wanted to give back to his community in some way, and he joined the fire company. He has currently given us 18 years of great service and is still going strong everyday. Throughout the years Jon has held many positions in the department, starting out as a Lieutenant and rising through the ranks to Captain, Assistant Chief, and eventually Chief where he is doing a great job serving now. He is a favorite among many members in the fire company, always joking around and making people laugh. Aside from being in the fire company Jon has also been working at Island Heights Department of Public Works where he is the Director of the department for many years. He is married to his lovely wife Sandy, and they have two kids, Cassidy who is 12, and Nate who is 10. Jon has family all over Island Heights and some of his nieces and nephews are a part of our explorer program. When he isn’t at the firehouse you can find him riding his motorcycle or camping with friends and family. Show Jon some love today, thanks for your service pal!
