Today we would like to recognize Jim Prior. Jim is a longtime member of our department, a Life Member with 44 years of service under his belt. Jim joined the Island Heights Vol. Fire Co. 1 in 1977, after a bunch of his close friends in town who he hung around with decided to join through a member of ours named Wes Wilber. They convinced Jim to join and once he did he immediately became an important member of our fire company. He is the first member of his family to become a fire fighter, starting a tradition amongst his family, as his son Jason joined the department once he was old enough to follow in his dads footsteps. Jim is loved by the members, who affectionately refer to him as pugsly. He currently serves as a Trustee, a position he has held for many years. He has also been the President of the fire company in the past, as well as the Financial Secretary. Jim is married to his Wife of 33 years Wendy and has two children, a son Jason, who as noted above is also a member in the fire company, and a daughter Jamie. He also has 4 grandkids Aiden, Brayden, Colton, and Dallas. Outside of the fire company Jim has been working for JF Keily Construction for 35 years. In his free time you can find him at the beach, camping, fishing, and doing his best to keep up with those grandkids. Thank you for your service to our fire company Jim!
